About the Block Print Series:  A few years ago, one of the residents at Pine Meadow Ranch created a simple block print stamp using a soft carving block. She got me started with the correct materials, and I was hooked!   I love the simple hand-carved effect without the effort of carving a woodblock.   I’ve been using the pieces I’ve created to print in my sketchbook -- testing out different papers, inks, and techniques.   The original prints are printed on Rives BFK Heavyweight printing paper. The smooth surface of this 100% cotton paper accepts the inks without creating another texture from the paper itself.  The giclee prints are produced by High Desert Frameworks in Bend, Oregon, and I sign and title each print. 

About Kathy Deggendorfer:  Kathy lives on a cattle and hay ranch just outside of Sisters, Oregon, on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains. Inspired by her surroundings' color and texture, her vibrant watercolor paintings are whimsical representations of ranch life, her travels, and the environment. Kathy's paintings are often referred to as "Painter's Quilts."  Kathy's work is collected throughout the Pacific Northwest and found in numerous corporate and private collections.
